Of French descent, born in Barcelona in 1942, he began in the plastic arts in a self-taught way. A great student of the landscape, his works show off a technique that, abstaining from superfluous motifs, manages to print a personal stamp thanks to the use of a palette of pure colors and rich in nuances.
The landscapes in his works are the result of rhythms and linear brushstrokes that allow him to create a lyrical and poetic painting without anecdotal elements.
Works where the drawing is the base from where Mejan later exhibits his nuanced color palette, full of combinations of transparencies and opacities, so that he obtains, with oil, the effects of watercolor. Get chromatic planes, product of extracting the essential lines from the landscape, creating horizontalities and verticalities that coincide in a vanishing point, in a chiaroscuro or in a transparency. In addition to painting, sculpture has also worked.
His work has been exhibited, mainly, in Spain and the United States. It has made a 2x2m wall cloth in the hall of the Gran Hotel Guadalpin in Marbella and an 8 × 1.5m mural in the Municipal Schools of Sidi-Ifni.
